Michael Phelps is super human ! He has more Gold Medals than anyone has total Medals in any event. 23 Gold ,3 Silver,2 Bronze for a total of 28... Take notice to the closest medalist to him. This is after tonights events.

Michael Phelps has only ever failed to medal in two Olympic finals (in which he participated), one of those was when he was 15 (he finished fifth) and the other time he finished fourth.  I honestly believe that he could come back in 2020 and win at least two more medals for an even 30, if he was so inclined.

Still, Katie Ledecky might eventually get close to Phelps in gold medals in individual events if she can match her performance in Rio with similarly ones in 2020 and 2024-she is only 19!

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
