Did NWC tell Williams bye? Or did he resign?

Rich Williams has been coaching football a long time, he decided he wanted to step away and spend more time with his family, which I support 100%. He's a terrific coach and while he may not have enjoyed the success he would have liked as the head coach at Northwest, he's always been a class act and done things the right way in my eyes, and if he decides to look at other options, he would be a fine choice as a head coach again.

Williams has been a head coach for 14 years and has a 72-93 record.  His teams made it to the second round in the playoffs three different times.

I think it safe to say that unless Northwest Cabarrus hire a well known coach they will have a hard time becoming a SPC championship contender. It's not a easy situation at Northwest Cabarrus when you have powerhouse football team as your next door neighbor. One thing that should be mention when it come to the Northwest Cabarrus football team despite not having a lot of talent on team you could see the players giving in a 110% effort at all time. Rich Williams did a really good job of standing up and fighting for his team regardless of the score or the situation.

I am hearing a LOT of rumblings in Buncombe County.  I hear several schools may be searching for a new coach.  Any word on that Chris?

Who do u think will take over the North Iredell job n What do u think the Pros n cons on that jo

North Iredell has played 50 seasons of football, and during these 50 years:

  1. Only 15 winning seasons.
  2. No coach has ever had an overall winning record while serving as head coach at North Iredell.
  3. Of the these 50 years,Charlie Love was the head coach during 25 of them.  During his tenure, he amassed an overall record of 125-141-1.  During the other 25 years of this program's existence, North Iredell has an overall record of 72-198-3.
  4. Charlie Love was the head coach for 11 of North Iredell's 15 winning seasons.  No other coach had more than one winning season.

This is a very hard program to win on a consistent level.  However, Coach Love had a nice run from 1983 to 1995 (a record of 87-58 during these 13 years), so success has occurred in the past at North Iredell.

Read elsewhere that Smoky Mountain coach is leaving.

Also, some talk on other site that St Pauls' Coach Sasser is resigning as well but I have not seen any news confirmations of that.

David Devine will succeed Rob Senseney at Burns. He was on our 94 state championship team and was on Ron Greene's staff for 9 years and served as interim coach in 08 before leaving for the Shelby staff after being passed over for Matt Beam in 2009. Talk about coming full circle!
